Sylvia Hoke, a
native of Brooklyn, captures the unique qualities of historical areas of
Brooklyn in her black and white and color photographs. The photos reveal
the beauty of unusual as well as classical architecture of Brooklyn's
oldest buildings, some dating as far back as 1824.
She has loved photography since
age 16, and likes to develop her black and white photos without the use
of computer technology. A collection of her first black and white photos
are on display now at "Victoria Station" on Court Street in
Brooklyn.
Since studying photography at
The Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, she has received
awards from "The International Library of Photography," and her work is featured in Photographer's Forum "Best of
Photography Annual 1998."
